Joe Trio
Friday, October 13, 2000
Joe Trio is not your average piano trio. But that’s the point. The
trio does not wish to be neatly categorized. Instead they strive for
diversity, and more than a little unpredictability. Their repertoire
consists of the classics - from Haydn to Shostakovich - new works by
contemporary composers, and their own imaginative arrangements of
popular and jazz music. Since Joe Trio was formed in 1989, they have
performed across Canada and the United States.

Brass Rings and William O’Meara
Friday, November 17, 2000
Brass Rings is a group of experienced musicians who invent programming
that demands they stretch beyond their musical selves. Using their
compelling musical performance as a unifying thread, they collaborate
with guest musicians as poets, actors, dancers, and stage directors to
create a deeply involving experience for their audiences. In time for
Christmas, Brass Rings and William O’Meara are travelling musicians
who tell you how they know when it’s time for Christmas.

Lisa Lindo Trio
Friday, March 23, 2001
When Torontonian Lisa Lindo lit into her roof-raising performance of the
spiritual 'Go Tell It on the Mountain', there was absolutely no doubt that a
star was born, as the rapturous applause attested. Lisa Lindo has gone
on to join Stuart McLean on many of his Vinyl Cafe concert tours. In
early October 1999, Lisa’s first CD, 'Drink Your Coffee While It’s
Hot', was launched on the season’s first Vinyl Cafe live-to-tape to
great acclaim. In keeping with her Gemini nature, Lisa Lindo has her
fingers in all musical pies. Currently Lisa plays with Pacande
(Columbian) and her own Lisa Lindo Jazz Trio. Catch a rising star now!
