Trio D'Argento
Fri., Oct. 1st, 2010 @ 8pm
Three virtuosi join together in the exciting new group, Trio d’Argento. Friends in the city of Toronto’s vibrant arts community, Sibylle, Peter and Kathryn were asked to perform for a noted chamber music series just outside the city. They had such a great time working together, and so much fun onstage with their virtuoso arrangements and original pieces that the series immediately asked them back, and so the Trio was born!
Recently, the Trio has appeared in concerts held at Mc Master (Hamilton), University of Guelph and the University of Toronto (Scarborough) campuses. They have also performed twice in the Caledon East Chamber Music Concert Series. This fall, they look forward to being part of the concert series held by the Muskoka Concert Association.
From Bach to "Carmen" to the European jazz master Claude Bolling, these three provide lively and entertaining concerts of trios, duos and solos with spoken introductions to each piece. |

Henderson-Kolk Duo
Sun., Jan. 30th, 2011 @ 2pm
Since forming in 2004, the Henderson-Kolk Duo have established themselves as one of Canada's premier classical guitar duos. Drew Henderson and Michael Kolk met at the University of Toronto and quickly cultivated a musical chemistry that has resulted in a dynamic and exciting performance style. They have performed throughout Canada and the US, and made their international debut at the Mediterranean Guitar Festival in Cervo, Italy in 2006.
Much of the Duo's energy has been directed towards arranging familiar music for two guitars, including Mozart, Bach, Scarlatti and Chopin. Their first CD, entitled Original Guitar Transcriptions, has received airplay on CBC Radio, as well as the Classical Guitar Alive radio program broadcast throughout the US. This programme also recently featured the duo's second CD, which contains music by Castelnuovo-Tedesco, de L’Hoyer, Bach and Ravel, in a broadcast entitled 'Best New Releases'.
